Corbridge Angels are a ladies cricket team, and part of Corbridge Cricket Club in Northumberland.
Following encouragement from the club and a few training sessions in the winter of 2009, we decided to set up as a team, and have now managed to attract over 20 members with ages ranging from 13 upwards. (We also have a band of keen primary and middle school girls waiting patiently in the wings!)
We are currently playing competitively in a league for the very first time, and expect to learn a huge amount from the experience!
Many of us are in our 30's and 40's, and we would also like to encourage any other 'oldies' out there to join us, as well as the fitter 'young-uns!'
As well as the obvious angelic-like qualities that we all possess, our name 'Corbridge Angels' derives from our kind sponsor - the Angel Inn in Corbridge, who have kindly provided our shirts and caps. If you've never been to the Angel Inn, get yourself there!
