When Tynemouth were clearly too scared to come and face the Angels on our home ground in the tropical heat, our captain decided to involve the Angel blokes in a 'friendly' game instead.
The teams were mixed - with husbands and wives and dads and daughters batting together. A chance to witness some decent domestic strife! But no - it was GREAT FUN - not too many scraps at all!
Thank you to the 2 young umpires. (Sorry Matthew, but Aaron definitely won in the 'quickest draw' competition.) Thank you Dave for being Tishy's husband for a while, and thank you all for the lovely family tea afterwards.
Debbie - the photos are fantastic - thanks for capturing this lovely afternoon in pictures...

It was a great afternoon and one that Mr A wants to do again asap. Glad I wasn't umpiring ... but when the husband gets you run out and son gives it out I guess you just have to accept - 'that's cricket'. Love the photos and the write up. Didn't love the Chomse hat-trick against us. Next time - Hells Angels will get their revenge ...
ReplyDeletePhoto's are great, Mr T Senior especially likes the one that makes him look like a pro! Truth is he could hardly walk for 3 days. Mr T Junior has never had so much power - surprised he came home wth HIS egs intact!! Thanks everyone- hope we didn't embarass wore Jen too much!
ReplyDeleteOops - spot the spelling mistake! I meant LEGS not Egs! Ha ha ha!! (sounds bad the first version)
ReplyDeleteI watched you all play Stocksfield last night 6th July and I have to tell you that you all rekindled my interest in cricket. The team performance was outstanding and it was a nail biting finish despite losing by a few runs. Well done ladies and keep up the good entertaining cricket
ReplyDeleteHey Mr past vice president! It took me 'til about 2am before I managed to switch off and get to sleep last night. Still can't help thinking and smiling about the game!
ReplyDeleteGreenside Monday 6pm for the next instalment! x
